>Sewanee–Day Twelve

>It’s Saturday, the last day of the conference. My workshop met for the final time this morning and then there was some time off before the last fellows’ reading this afternoon, with Richard Newman, Kim Burke and Sam Starnes. All good stuff, but a number of participants have left so the crowd was a bit thin, unfortunately for the readers.

Then Charles Martin read a mix of recent and not-so recent work, including a stunning poem about 9/11.

I’m posting this before the evening events becasue . . . because it’s going to be late when I get home from them and because I’m packing up now. But tonight we’ve got John Casey’s reading–I’m anticipating that he’ll read from his new novel, due out soon–and then we’ve got the farewell party at The Pub.

I plan to post a more reflective wrap-up sometime next week . . .
