>VCCA: Winday

>Winday = Windy Monday. Cold, too. But no snow. Sunday was kind of quiet here, although after our “Christmas Dinner” (the whole colony was invited to Sweet Briar College for turkey and all the trimmings, along with several hundred other people) folks gathered in the living room to talk and drink and say goodbye to some of the fellows who are leaving over the next couple of days.

Today I worked reasonably well and got to an end point on a story I’m working on that has an odd structure. I know it still needs a lot of work but that will have to wait for revision. Sunday night I did a lot of work on a story for the Oliver series that is turning out to be much longer than the others. Not sure what that’s about, but it’s almost done.

This afternoon I needed a bookstore fix so I drove down to Lynchburg to find the Barnes & Noble. I didn’t feel like lingering, though, and came back after I found a few things to pick up. Dinner was hearty (meatloaf) and then I went out to the studio and for some reason was moved to write poetry. I never write poetry and yet I finished drafts of 3 poems. I’m not sure what came over me.
