>I’ve been home from VCCA for almost a week. I can’t say it hasn’t been productive. Having decided to let the novel rest for a bit, I turned to some short stories that were in need of revision. I did that and mailed a batch of submissions yesterday, including a few contest entries. I’ve got six stories out there circulating now, more than I’ve ever had at one time before. And I’m working on a new one that, with luck, will be done by the end of the year and ready to hit the road.
I’ve also been working on an article for Southern Arts Journal, about which more later. I did a real interview and then some informal interviews and that was amusing since it was a new experience. I need to finish that up this week and then . . .
off to China for 12 days, on a quick assignment for the World Bank, and then back here for the holidays and, I hope, a long uninterrupted stretch of productive writing.
The sun has just poked its nose over the Blue Ridge Mountains and is looking in my window, wondering why I’m not yet working on that article, so . . .
>Such a full life you have, Cliff. Have a safe trip.
