I’ve been doing some research for an article I’m supposed to be writing (supposed to be, as in right this minute, instead of posting here). The article is about Staunton’s American Shakespeare Center, which I’ve discussed often in this space. I visited many of our town’s gift shops, checking out their Shakespeare-related inventory. It turned out that the hottest seller among the Shakespeare doodads is the Action Figure, with detachable quill and book, pictured above. For $8.99, I had to have one (research expense). The Bookstack, our local bookstore, also stocks Poe, Austen, and a few others. Shakespeare Bobble-heads do well, too, but I had to draw the line somewhere. Check out the complete line: Action Figures.
