Counting down to launch: WHAT THE ZHANG BOYS KNOW

In a little under 24 hours, my new book, What the Zhang Boys Know, will launch at a party hosted by Press 53 in their offices. It’s a little confusing, I know. The book officially will be published on October 1. And it’s currently available for pre-order from the publisher (with pre-ordered copies shipping next week). But I have planned a few pre-publications celebrations because . . . why not?

The party at Press 53 is a prelude to the Gathering of Writers, a day-long series of seminars sponsored by Press 53 and Prime Number Magazine that takes place on Saturday at the Community Arts Café in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Then, next week, we have a launch party here in Staunton, Virginia, at the Darjeeling Café. (That one is by invitation, but if you want an invitation, let me know.) And in a few weeks I’ll be celebrating with friends in Chicago.

Wait till you see how I celebrate when the book is officially out!

I am also the co-founder and former editor of Prime Number Magazine and the editor of the award-winning anthology series EVERYWHERE STORIES: SHORT FICTION FROM A SMALL PLANET.

  1. It’s semi-private, in a public place. I’m meeting people for drinks at the Globe Café & Bar in the Orrington Hotel in Evanston between 5 and 7 on Sunday, Sept. 16. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello.

I’m planning to be back in Chicago in the near future for readings–and those will be posted here for sure.
