>I’ve returned from a trip I almost cancelled because I really wanted to be making more progress on the revisions to my novel. At least I managed to steal a few minutes here and there to get some work done. Despite delayed flights on both ends of the trip, I managed to: attend a Northwestern University Alumni Association conference in Evanston, Illinois; spend a fair amount of time with family and friends; meet with poet Reginald Gibbons about my proposal for a Northwestern University Alumni Writers Conference (about which more later perhaps); attend the tailgate party preceeding but miss the actual playing of Northwestern’s homecoming football game with Michigan (we lost); stayed in Washington DC last night so I could attend a luncheon today with Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana (whom I enjoyed meeting).
