>Taubman Museum of Art

>Last Saturday I had the pleasure of visiting the brand new Taubman Museum of Art in downtown Roanoke. Our group got a guided tour and then had plenty of time to wander around on our own. It’s a nice collection, with plenty of interesting pieces to enjoy, but not as overwhelming as major museums in DC, New York, Chicago, and elsewhere.

One wonderful thing about the museum is its location, right in the heart of Roanoke’s compact downtown, easy walking distance to the famous downtown market, plus galleries, shops and restaurants. The combination definitely makes for a pleasant day in the city. Worth a visit!
