>The Understory by Pamela Erens

>My issue of Rain Taxi finally arrived. As I mentioned a few days ago, included in this issue is my review of The Understory by Pamela Erens. Rereading my review, I’m not sure I really managed to convey how much I liked this book. It looks like I spend more time in plot summary and analysis – drawing connections between the thematic elements of the book – than I do making an assessment. So let me say here that I loved this short, quiet novel and highly recommend it.

For another take, see this review by my friend Pedro Ponce in Small Spiral Notebook.
