>A gray day, good for working. Once again, hitting a problem with a story, I solved part of it by taking a walk in the woods. On that walk, a deer ran through the woods, hopped on the path and paid no attention to me. I half-expected a hunter to follow in pursuit but, happily, that didn’t happen. Unfortunately, I didn’t solve the whole problem – I’m not happy with the voice, although I think I know what the story is about.

This evening with had a fellows’ presentation. First, Carmine Starnino read poetry and that was very enjoyable. And then Gergory Mertl talked about a guitar piece he’s composed, and then we listened to a recording of the piece by the guitarist who commisioned it.

And now much discussion . . .
