Everywhere Stories at Scuppernong Books — Dec. 8, 7pm

scuppernongYou’ve got to love a book store that is also a wine bar. And that describes Scuppernong Books in Greensboro, North Carolina, where I’m headed for an event this Thursday, December 8 at 7pm.

The occasion for the event is the North Carolina launch of Everywhere Stories: Short Fiction from a Small Planet Volume II, the second installment of the series I’m editing for Press 53. Like the first volume, this book has 20 stories set in 20 countries by 20 authors. And while the world is still dangerous (the theme of Volume I), this time around we want you to know that “It’s a mysterious world.”Everywhere Stories Vol II

If you live anywhere near Greensboro, we’d love to see you for the event. And if you can’t make it on Thursday, Scuppernong has the book in stock or you can order it from Press 53.

About the author

I am the author of three novels--THE LAST BIRD OF PARADISE, OLIVER'S TRAVELS, and THE SHAMAN OF TURTLE VALLEY--and three story collections--IN AN UNCHARTED COUNTRY, HOUSE OF THE ANCIENTS AND OTHER STORIES, and WHAT THE ZHANG BOYS KNOW, winner of the Library of Virginia Literary Award for Fiction. I am also the co-founder and former editor of Prime Number Magazine and the editor of the award-winning anthology series EVERYWHERE STORIES: SHORT FICTION FROM A SMALL PLANET.

  1. Scuppernong Books is a great venue for book events. I had a signing for Surface and Shadow there in October. The atmosphere was great, and the owners were very accommodating and gracious. It’s a very professional operation.
