NPR Interview Aired Today

onairI recently was interviewed by Martha Woodroof for “The Spark,” a program about creativity that airs on WMRA–the NPR station for the central Shenandoah Valley. The interview aired today. It’s only 9 minutes long, so give a listen.

(The interview is one of the results of having won the 2013 Library of Virginia Award for Fiction.)

About the author

I am the author of three novels--THE LAST BIRD OF PARADISE, OLIVER'S TRAVELS, and THE SHAMAN OF TURTLE VALLEY--and three story collections--IN AN UNCHARTED COUNTRY, HOUSE OF THE ANCIENTS AND OTHER STORIES, and WHAT THE ZHANG BOYS KNOW, winner of the Library of Virginia Literary Award for Fiction.
