>Sad and Happy News from the Sports World

>As an IndyCar fan (I grew up in Indianapolis and we could hear the racing roar from our house even though it was some distance from the track) and a graduate of Northwestern University, I was saddened today to learn of the death during practice in Florida of Paul Dana. Dana, a graduate of Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, was only 30.

On a brighter note, George Mason is in the Final Four of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. It’s almost unbelievable. Other than being a resident of Virginia (GM is located in the Washington, DC suburb of Fairfax, Virginia) I have no connection to the school, but since the teams I usually root for crapped out (Indiana in the second round, Northwestern sometime in January), it’s nice to have a favorite. Go George Mason!
