>Things are clearly winding down. The program is still ongoing, but we can feel the end approaching. Friday morning we had a presentation by Anne and Georges Borchardt, literary agents who have an amazing list of authors. I think there was some resentment because the agency doesn’t accept unsolicited queries, so some wondered why they were here, but I thought they were very interesting people.
Next was Mark Jarman’s craft lecture in which he discussed the poetry of Chase Twichell.
After lunch, our workshop had our final session. Tim O’Brien and Erin McGraw have been great.
Then we had a poetry reading by Leigh Anne Couch, managing editor of Sewanee Review and a former SWC staff member (and wife of Kevin Wilson), and Wyatt Prunty, the program’s director.
The evening reading was by Randall Kenan, and as always he was great.
The social crowd at the French House after that was big. The end is near.
