The First “Gathering of Writers” Is in the Books

Gathering of Writers BannerThe first “Gathering of Writers” sponsored by Press 53 and Prime Number Magazine is now history, and I have to say I thought it was a great success. We’re looking forward to reviewing the evaluations to see what we can improve on for next year, but I thought it went really well, thanks to Kevin Watson and the Press 53 staff. Prime Number’s contribution was not in logistics, but three of our four editors were on faculty–Clifford Garstang (me), Valerie Nieman, and Tracy Crow. The faculty also included Susan Woodring, Kim Wright, and John McNally.

But I have to thank all the people who attended the Gathering for being enthusiastic and appreciative of what we were doing, as well as the folks who run the Community Arts Cafe in Winston-Salem, which is the perfect location for a program such as this. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular supporter of everything they do. The space is awesome.

We’re already talking about next year’s Gathering, so I hope you’re able to join us then!
