>Sunday here is no different from any other day except that breakfast is served a little later. I got out to my studio around 8:30 and it was about 9:00 by the time I’d booted up the laptop and made coffee. And then I got to work. Because I set a fairly rigid schedule for myself, I am doing very little self-editing as I write, which means there will be cleaning up to do when I’m done. But that’s okay — I think the writing overall is fresher that way. I’m also working with music. Today I listed to acoustic guitar (through the noise reducing headphones, not there’s any noise but because it is wonderful focus tool) and by mid afternoon I had finished the three scenes I’d planned to write to finish the story I’ve been working on. It’s a little shorter than I projected, but that’s okay. It feels complete. I printed it out and tomorrow I’ll look at it closely and see if it needs more (or less) or whatever.
Because I achieved that goal I treated myself to a walk in the woods and then came back to work on one of the flash pieces in my secondary project. That also went well, although I didn’t finish it until after dinner. So that project is also moving ahead nicely.
When I felt I’d done enough for the night, I joined some of the other fellows in Laraine Armenti‘s studio. She’s leaving tomorrow but she had left up some of the work she’s done. The pictures on the blog are from a series that she did while she’s been here. They look great online, but even better in person.
I’m not planning to post every day, although I have been taking some nice pictures, so I might keep making excuses to post them . . .
