>Writer’s Little Instruction Books

>At the Green Valley Book Fair today I came across three little books by Paul Raymond Martin [and, just as an aside, that link takes you to something called the Writers’ Store, and who know there was such a thing?]: Craft & Technique, Inspiration & Motivation and Getting Published. Each one contains more than 300 story starters and prompts or aphorisms and insights or secrets and strategies and is called a Writer’s Little Instruction Book because it is, um, little, measuring about 3×5 inches.

From Getting Published:

“The first rule of writing is to write. The second rule of writing is rewrite. The third rule of writing is the same as the second.”
and
“Submitting your writing for publication is like e-mail and holiday greeting cards: The more you send the more you receive.”
